1.44 Points of Gas Injection
Gas is introduced into the breathing loop often at the ‘head’ of the rebreather, which should provide porting options both pre- and post- scrubber (inhale and exhale sides respectively).
While there are a variety of injection locations present among rebreather systems, units we design/build apply logic where both the diluent ADV and oxygen (orifice and MAV) are on the exhalation side of the scrubber. This positioning allows for thorough mixing through the scrubber bed prior to being analyzed (passing sensors) and then being inhaled by the diver.
The diluent MAV injects on the inhalation side and directed to flow across the oxygen sensor faces. This allows moisture to be wicked from the sensor faces and is also the tool to enable verification of cell readings with a known diluent pO2.
