2.4 Maintenance
Maintenance should be performed at regular and routine intervals. These items should not be confused with a thorough pre-dive checklist. The following items are generally applicable to all rebreathers and are not unit specific. Maintenance requirements are as follows:
Daily (with use)
1. Thoroughly inspect all components per the assembly instructions and pre-dive checklist.
2. Rinse the entire unit (internal and external) with freshwater and disinfect the breathing loop.
3. Air dry (allow to breathe) overnight and/or between dives.
4. Inspect all soft parts for proper seal and function and lubricate as required.
5. Actuate pneumatic components to verify operation.
6. Verify battery voltage for electronics, and replace battery as needed.
7. Verify oxygen sensor calibration, test for linearity, and/or replace as necessary.
Every Six Months
1. Inspect main chassis for breaks, deformation, and missing hardware.
2. Inspect all soft parts for proper seal and function. Lubricate as required and actuate component to verify operation.
3. Verify battery voltage for electronics, and replace battery as needed.
4. Verify oxygen sensor linearity, and replace sensors as needed.
Annually
1. Complete service of regulators per manufacturer recommendations.
2. Complete visual inspection of cylinders and inspect valve cycling.
3. Complete oxygen cleaning of oxygen cylinder, oxygen regulator, and oxygen plumbing.
4. Service Auto Diluent Valve and Bailout Valve second stage components such as seats and o-rings.
